Luca sat at the table,
laughing and joking with a few of the middle year Slytherin, eating a hearty
breakfast of ham eggs and pancakes. He stretched out, his morning exercises
having gotten him energized for the morning. He had decided that he had been
too hasty in his attempts to impress people, and that put what he had to do at
risk. Already he knew damage had been done, and that it would take a while to
re-earn some trusts.
He already had a few roses for Pansy whenever she decided to show her face.
He waved over to the Gryffindor table where a few of his friends from that
house sat. Indeed it was time to sit back, and let the accusations be
forgotten, to let the troubles of his first week dissapate. He had plenty of
time this year to do what must be done, but he needed patience.
Soon the post came and a large heavy letter landed in front of him. Luca,
smiling, recognizing the handwriting as his father's, opened it up with much
joy. As his eyes peered over the written words, in his native tongue the color
drained from his face, lip quivering gently, sweat beading as he looked up,
staring at Blaise Zabini, then over at certain children of Death Eaters, and
finally at the Gryffindors. He stammered and shakily excused himself.
"I...I must return to me dorm room. It was looking to be such a nice day
too..."
Luca hurried off, fist clentched around the letter.
