Draco entered Snape's chamber for another one of their lessons. "Bella mentioned her 'party' again. She wants me along, but I'd rather not. Can you get me out it? Assign me to fix the creaky step on the third floor or something?"

"If you can successfully keep me out of your mind for 3 minutes, I will reward you with some sort of grueling task to get you out of Bella's clutches," he drawled. "Legilimens!"

He sorted through memories and Draco was putting up quite the fight, giving him only the minimal of layers.

40 seconds, 55, 1 minute 20 seconds, 2 minutes, 2 minutes and 30 seconds, a trickle of blood escaped Draco's nose, 3 minutes...

Snape released his mind, "Well done Draco, you can spend the evening cleaning all my cauldrons with your returned wand."

Draco wiped away the blood. Not sure if he should say thanks, he just nodded.

Bellatrix walked down the familiar corridor to the disguises room, where she saw a few people standing by the door waiting for her. A smirk escaped her lips and her head rose as she reached her compatriots. "Oh come on, look a bit more excited." She gestured toward the door, and waited for them to walk in.

Draco returned to Snape's chamber after dinner. It wasn't that he didn't like Aunt Bella. But he was pretty sure her idea of fun and his idea of fun weren't even remotely similiar.

Bella looked around at the party, and realized Draco was missing. She pulled Narcissa aside and calmly asked her, "Where’s Draco?"

"Well, last I saw him, he was with Severus...I haven’t seen him since then, Bella." Narcissa said, and gestured in the direction of Severus's chambers.

"Damn!" Severus was always ruining Bellatrix's fun. She raced off towards his chambers with a scowl on her face.

It only took Draco a few minutes to do a basic cleaning of Snape's cauldrons. He had his wand back after all, and this portion of the Headquarters was underground and protected from the Ministries magic detection spells.

But he had decided to make a thorough job of it and was now applying polish to a silver cauldron. He hummed to himself as he worked.

Footsteps fell outside the door, and Draco stopped humming. That certainly didn't sound like Snape.

Bella walked to the door, and began to knock. "Draco, Draco, is Severus keeping you in? His charms won't let me in." With a scowl on her face, she waited for a reply.

Draco paused with his cauldron in hand. Maybe if he was really quiet, she'd just give up on him. But that tactic would lead to long awkward explanations if she caught him. He put the cauldron down and cracked the door open, leaning against the post, so Bella would not be tempted to come inside.

"I'm working on project for him. Did you need something?"

He leant over the door, refusing her any chance of screaming at Snape. "I see, and when did he set this assignment? Before or after he read about my party?"

"Party?" Draco repeated curiously, and then he squeezed his eyes as though remembering. "Oh I forgot all about that. Sorry. I'm not sure Snape even read the message. You have a good time. I'm afraid I'm a little busy." Draco moved to shut the door again.

Bella replied by putting her hand in the door and conjuring a note. "Come on Draco, I'm sure it can wait." Dragging him along to the disguises room, I felt him seize up along the way.

Draco wrenched himself free of this aunt's grasp, which took a little doing. Bella had a strong grip. "No, it can't," he said. "I've got some very time sensitive work to do."

Lucius was never late and he scowled as he approached the disguises room, where a number of Death Eaters had begun to congregate. His eyes glanced at them, but not finding Bella, he approached Snape. "So Severus, any idea what Bella has planned for us this evening?" As much as he disliked his sister in law, Lucius had to admit that her parties were always excellent and he was looking forward to the event with great fervor.

"I wouldn't know. I'm not going," he sneered.

Lucius gave him a quizzical look, and Snape smirked.

Like I'd waste my time enduring Bella's "party", "Just need to fetch something from the kitchen." He stood there for a moment longer, and realized he needed to get out of sight before Bella returned. With a violent turn, he stalked off to the kitchens. I really do need to just charm one of the cupboards into a cooling device, he sighed mentally.

Draco slipped out of Bella’s grip and he muttered something about a project. She knew he didn't want to go, and would have more fun without looking after him. "Alright, go off." She muttered and before walking to the disguises room, she headed into the main hall and shrieked. "SEVERUS! GET TO THE HALL NOW!" If Draco wasn't going to turn up, she wanted to make sure he had to.

Snape heard a faint yell while he was rummaging through the kitchen cupboards. He figured it was Bella. If anyone was loud, she was.

He found the ingredient he was searching for and headed back to the lab, carefully avoiding the room of disguise. He joined Draco in the lab, and put his wards back up.

Waiting a few minutes, she gave up and returned to the disguises room. The crowd looked over at her as she coughed. "Welcome to the best party of the month! Step into this room and point your wand to your Dark Mark. Then you should find yourself somewhere. Wait for the rest of us and then the fun will begin!" Ushering them into the room, she looked back and shut the door.

Watching Bella as he slipped within the door, Lucius scowled, seeing how few individuals had chosen to attend. These revels were better when there more people, but he was certain that it would be an entertaining diversion, just the same.

She made sure that everyone was ready. "Now, point your wands at your marks and think of me, like so." She pointed her wand at her mark and apparated to the secret location. She then apparated back.

Lucius frowned at the idea of having to think about Bella at all, but quietly complied and felt himself be pulled away to Bella's party site.

Fenrir looked around the party site and smiled in a way that showed off his fang like cuspids. He edged close to Lucius so that he could speak in a low growl near his ear. He loved the way people jumped when he did that. "I see your boy's decided to play with Snape tonight instead of us. It's like he and Severus have started their own little club."

Lucius felt his lip curl as he heard Fenrir's voice. If there was one Death Eater that scared Lucius, even just a little it was Fenrir and as usual Lucius felt the hair on his neck rise.

"I hardly think studying and creating spells to help the Dark Lord would be considered 'play' Fenrir. You know we all can't spend our time chasing children and pretending that somehow we are forwarding the Cause. Some of us have to be useful." Lucius smirked.

Fenrir looked amused by Lucius's retort. "Children get in to all sorts of things when you don't keep an eye on them," he said vaguely. "And what exactly would you know about furthering the cause, Lucius? Your party failed to bring him the prophecy, but mine got Dumbledore. I'll give Draco his credit for setting that little adventure up...even if he was unable to follow through." He saw Lucius's eyes narrow. "The boy may be with us, Lucius, but he isn't one of us. I won't trust him until I see him kill."

Lucius' lip curled at Fenrir's words. "I would hardly consider what your party did to be particularly remarkable. It was my son who got you in and it was Severus who managed to kill Dumbledore, and not any of your . . . 'party'." Lucius smirked. "I would hardly consider one scratched up Weasley to be a spectacular success."

Fenrir sneered and turned away. Lucius would learn soon enough.
