Levicorpus History (beyond the Lexicon) :

Gabrielle started her schooling in September 1997 at Beaubatons. She left the school in November when a Potions explosion caused her to lose her hearing. Her mother asked her sister to take her in and she agreed. She, Fleur, and Bill learned sign language fairly quickly. She is learning lip reading. On November 13, 1997 she had been en route to her lip reading class when she walked into a trap set by a vampire. Death Eater Rabastan Lestrange was drunk and emotional and saved the child, only to hold her hostage in his basement and chain her to the wall and had his house elf care for her. Three days later, Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape found her. She was taken to Malfoy Manor and then she was brought in to see Voldemort. Despite her fears that she wouldn’t walk out of the room, he let her live and had Rabastan apologize to her and let her choose his punishment. She gleefully told him to send him to her family.
